This paper is summarized from a post dated 27.2.2023: ZEG’s position and comment on environmental consent no. 35428-4/2021-2550-96.
The comments are so serious and justified that it would be necessary to file an administrative dispute by filing a lawsuit with the Administrative Court of the Republic of Slovenia. However, in the process itself, we detected such great pressure on the participants in the process that the lawsuit filed would not change the course of the nuclear lobby.
ZEG – with the status of an association in the public interest according to the Environmental Protection Act, has acquired the status of a secondary participant in the administrative procedures for the extension of the operating life of the NPP from 40 to 60 years and in the consideration of the PVO assessment.
The expert committee of ZEG considered the environmental protection agreement no. 35428-4/2021-2550-96 dated 13.1.2023 to extend the operating life of the NPP from 40 to 60 years.
During the process, ZEG was actively involved, made comments, pointed out mistakes and untruths in the reports, but in vain. The comments were ignored, overheard, unanswered, or with answers stating falsehoods. Moreover, the NPP is operating as if the extension had already been approved, since the 40-year regular operating period from January 1983 has already expired in January 2023.
